Alternative Start is a nonprofit organization which specializes in showing teens and young adults the value of careers in Property Management. Our goal is to show these young people that just because you can’t afford it or don’t have the grades for college it is not the end of your world. We want to give these kids options and opportunities that they would normally not know about. We feel like this message hits home a little more when it comes from people who look like them and come from similar backgrounds. It is also our way of giving back to communities that might be overlooked at times by our industries.
Our goal is to open the eyes of people in these communities that life doesn’t end because of one bump in the road. Everyone in our group has faced those challenges and we have all had to pivot, change, and adapt. Proving there is nothing wrong with that will make a difference we feel like. And if we make a difference in one life then we have achieved our goals.
We plan to provide experience for high school students and young adults in various industries such as plumbing, electrical, HOA management, Commercial RE management, pest control, etc. We hope though these experience they will see there are career opportunities for them outside of what they have seen.
